DrJay? That name sounds familiar.

I will be reading through it, along with the site DrJay linked to.

To simply answer all 3 of your replies. At least someone bothered to give this guy info to the best of his knowledge and his options. I dont see anyone else that tried to reply till i did, but then all of a sudden people come out the woodwork to tell me what they THINK wont work. Besides that the part numbers for the all Lg3's that year besided the bluck which is no stronger just drilled for a diffrent bellhousing will fit. so like i said earlier heads, Intakes pistons....etc will work im done on this topic especially since the original author of the thread hasnt had any input

4) You did not post anything the OP requested
5) You volunteered information the OP did not request. Information that is still questionable.
6) The reason no one responded during the last ten days is: No one has the experience the OP was looking for.

Which part do you not understand?

IMO a l67 isnt the only option
------------

2) OP wants to hear from someone who has actually done it.

-------------
so why do you feel the need to comment? at least i had something to contribute.
-------------

3) OP did not ask for options.

------------
OP didnt ask for you to be his opinion in this matter either.
-----------

4) You did not post anything the OP requested

-------------
in that case www.l67swap.com now what do you have to contribute besides your nagging.
-------------

5) You volunteered information the OP did not request. Information that is still questionable.

questionable in your opinion not the op's.

6) The reason no one responded during the last ten days is: No one has the experience the OP was looking for.

fair enough but at least he has more insight on what deciosion to make for his car from the info posted already. I done see any harm in that and unless the op says otherwise who are you to talk?
------------

Which part do you not understand?

---------
i dont understand your though precess, if you have NO information to give at all, why do you like to clog up the thread with your bickering?

Assuming (unless we learn otherwise) all engine parts will actually interchange.

How would you go about making the 4L60 stronger than a 4L65? What would be the total cost of said rebuild?

Why couldn't one simply use a 4L65 with the LG3?

In the real world, those numbers are all but useless. Tell us about the differences in power curves?

Then tell us why (for street use) the power curve of the Garrett blown GN, would be a better choice than the Eaton blown L67.

I don't come here too often because I don't have lots of info on the newer stuff. But I sure did get entertained reading this thread. That's why you all don't hear much from me.

Morale of the story is; Don't argue or dispute Norm, he knows his stuff and is exact in his replies. One might not always agree with every point ANY of us make but I have never heard him make an incorrect or inaccurate statement.

Maybe I should visit here more.

Not really theres alot of parts you just have to look for them (ebay etc...)
ive seen alot of good prices online for GN parts.
-------------------------

If ones budget allows for that much expense, why wouldn't aftermarket parts be more cost effective?

------------------------
what aftermarket does the FWD lg3 have?? thats why the need for interchange comes into play.

the trans you reffered to is the RWD version. the 4t40 4t60,4t60-e, 4t60E-hd, 4t65-e, 4t65E-HD are all the FWD trans in recent GM FWD cars since 87-2005.

if youve been privelaged to drive a GN boost comes on low and is very responsive in stock form so yea for real world apps the GN combo is plenty useful, As for the l67 it makes great power on the low to mid ranges but you also have to keep in mind, that it saps power to make it. IMO id prefer the turbo, but its up to the driver to decide the good ol' turbo vs. roots blower arguement.

Then tell us why (for street use) the power curve of the Garrett blown GN, would be a better choice than the Eaton blown L67.

--------------------------
Thats the whole turbo vs.blower argument again. when it comes down to it, i feel these engines need all the power they can get, a eaton blwer will steal almost 25-50 hp at the top end a turbo......sweet boost all the way up baby :D

We are all aware of those differences, and everyone knows it was a typo. Just as we all know that your useless reply was not only incomplete, it did not, in any way, address the question.

The answer would be the same, whether it pertained to "T" for transverse, or to "L" for longitudinal.

There were two questions.

Do you think, that might be why the OP chose the L67?

There is no argument among cruisers, racers, builders, or TOC members. Everyone agrees, the only possible choice, is the one that matches the intended application.

The arguing takes place in forums where fact has no value, and opinion rules.

Not low enough. The mods that are needed to make it equal to the L67, are the same ones that make it less "streetable".

91buickman wrote:

Interesting numbers.

By definition, it takes power to turn a positive displacement pump. The amount used, is determined by the desired net power gain.

Max power, of both, are limited by engine design, not by how the blower is driven.

because the GN heads flow more but still have the same bolt patterns and such as the fwd Lg3 heads. the intake flows more air as well so thats why you interchange.

wrong anything that spins off the crank pulley is a parasitic loss, engine design has nothing to do with the fact of parasitic losses caused by roots type superchargers.

what you dont understand is that the FWD heads in question are 3800 series 1 heads etc.... not LG3 which is before the series 1 smart guy. LG3 is the same engine code in the RWD GN and the FWD GM 3.8 v6's so get your facts straight. and yes the 3800 series motors to have more flow potential than the LG3 GN heads. but were talking LG3 remmber?

not low enough? that comment is ass backwards. The Gn motor is at 250-300hp the l67 is 240-260hp. its alot easier to make the tubo motor hit 400 hp then it would be for the l67 to hit 400hp..........FACT.

so to simplify this...once again... the l67 gen 3or 5 m90 eaton robs up to 50hp on the top end while the Turbo motor isnt taking any. Fact remains a roots blower will ALWAYS take power to make power.
