So what up folks. Its Grave again, with new plans AGAIN. Couple days ago I found out one of my friends at work busted up his car by doing donuts and hitting a tree. Then the dumb son of a gun tried to run with no tire! Long story short, instead of putting money into his ride again, he bought a new car, a Hyundai :-?
He offered to sell it to me for $1,500. I told him I can do $1,200 cash the next day, so he took it.
So now I'm a proud owner of a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Classic. it has a new 307 engine block from PepBoys with only 1,400 miles on it, and a big ol 4:11 rear end. Not sure if it has posy, if it doesnt, I'll make it a posy.
Yesterday we started taking it apart and found out the core support is bent JUST a BIT! But probably enough so the new fender won't line up, so need a new one. And I'm replacing the whole wheel assembly, because when he crashed it, the wheel took most of it.
In a couple years when its an antique I'd like to swap the engine with a 350 and give it some balls!

NICE! Thats quite a nice looking vehicle. Love the all black. You should be able to just buy a fender, and a header, and paint them off the car, and make it look pretty close. You'll have fun! How does the 307 run?

Fresh 307 with only 1400 miles, runs strong, sounds tight, gonna hook it up to some straight pipes to get the streets rumbling.
And thx for the reply, no1 else seems to care about nice cars round here. [-(

On Sunday I took off the control arms and got the new ones prepped for a bolt on. Also replaced the tire rod, old one got bent a little. That was the first time I worked on a car with a few tips from my friends uncle Joe. It was a HUGE pain in the ass since all the tools I had was a hammer and a 130 piece socket case, but i felt very satisfied when I was leaving knowing I did that. Learned a lot too, was a good experience in all, except the 100 degree heat!! On Thursday I'm gonna bolt up the new control arms, get a tire for the rim, and the car should be rolling. Got a fender already for it, now all I need is a bumper and the nose, some paint, and the car will look like it never hit anything. :D

So then, this is going to be an educational project also! Nothing like working on your own vehicle for satisfaction.
