After a long time of looking for an engine that is bigger than my olds 7a headed 307, I have finally found one. It is a Buick 455 engine, with a 400 transmission. I have already made the deal for it at the junk yard, and should have it by the 25th. My delta's current rear axle is a 7.5 with a (I believe) 2.14 gear ratio. My question is; Will the 7.5 be able to withstand the new combination? If not, what would be a good sized axle for the new engine?
