transmission speedo cable

hi could you please tell what the name of this part is.....the speedo cable hooks up to the transmission ...my car is a1987 cutty 3.8 auto trans,,front wheel drive...and will this part make the speedo jump up and down...and were can i buy one...... i know it has a gear in side it also ..hope you can help thanks

Don't know what the question is, but a dry or improperly lubed cable will make the speedo needle bounce.
