ok ive done this a million times for my friends... i refuse to use lighter adapters cause when you have 140$ worth of neon it looks rediculous with the amount of wire exposed..

find the place you want to mount it, make sure it sits flush and doesnt distract you when your driving (if you plan to drive with them on)

cut the cigarette lighter adapter about 2" from the recepticle in case you choose to use it some day

This is how i ran my neons in my olds, my friends cadillac deville and my friends buick century

before you electricut yourself and light your car on fire, disconnect the battery

i cut the stock interior lights that sit under my dashboard at my feet, spliced the wires, pigtailed, and connected the neon there.

again, make sure the batterys un plugged before you do anything like this. if you touch the two wires together you'll start a fire.

The trick here is, when any of my doors open, the neons turn on automatically and its all hooked up to the stock interior light switch. My dome light is a seperate switch in case i need to read a map or somthing of the sort.

if your putting neon in the back of the car, feed the neon wire on the opposite side your speaker cable runs on, you can usually tell what side its running by looking in the trunk and checking wich side the speaker wire goes into the interior. crossing neon wire with speaker wire or RCAs will cause interferance that will definatly piss you off.

take off your door sills or interior trim (whatever you have to do to get under your carpet) and find where the wires for the break lights and stuff are, usually theres a sheath thats made for holding your wire and keeping them from getting damaged there, run your wire through to the front, making sure everything is nicely tucked in and make your connection to where you cut the light off. If you dont have wire butts use electrical tape to keep the wires from touching anything it shouldnt. wrap the negative and positive up seperately so that it doesnt touch at all what so ever, and to make the connection more bulletproof i'd wrap the two taped wires together and make them really tight.

Remember, the wire with the white or black line on it is negative, the wire without the line is positive.

try to keep the amount of slack you have on the wire to a minimum, if theres an extra 3 feet left over where you connect it, just cut it off and re splice it again.. any wire that is in veiw should be neatly tucked into somthing or zip tied so that it doesnt get in the way of your feet and cant be seen.

Taking the extra time to install your neons definatly pays off in the end so be patient... ill check back in case you have questions.

-Brian-

i forgot one thing, if your L.E.Ds have a little box on the wire (some of mine did), it could be a voltage regulator, make sure you keep this connected on the wire if you have one. otherwise when you turn the switch, youll hear a popping noise and your L.E.Ds will be fried because you sent too much power to it.

nothing sweeter than doing an install that looks good... You'll step back from it all when your finished and say "damn, that looks good". Thats what I usually do, anyways ;-)
