The City of Wood Buffalo has posted that they will be hiring urban planners, and I am somewhat seriously considering the possibility of moving up there... I was just wondering if any of our members have been there and might be able to share any personal experience with the area... Thanks!

Oh wow, thats wayyy up north from here, I've been as far north as edmonton and surrounding area. But, the northern alberta area is supposed to be very beautiful. Northern Alberta is booming like MAD right now, in the oil sector (the rigs), and everything is quite expensive.

You would be very close to Ft. McMurray, and the average house here ($180,000CAD) is supoosed to be at least double. Something amazing, I saw in the paper a couple months ago - McDonalds was hiring full time managers for $16-$18/hour in Ft McMurray! Just to be competetive! So the pay is much better up there also.

I live in lethbridge, which is in southern alberta, an hour from the montana border.
