I want to know if yall can help me with a 65 olds cutlass? I know it’s newer than what’s here but I’m lost.

The cutlass is a 65 convertible that was purchased new by my Grandfather. He gave the car to me five years ago, just now am I trying to get it up and going. I have run into some problems.
1- Engine identification? What’s in it?
2- Transmission identification?
3- New and used parts. The interior has bucket seats with a center console. The auto trans shifter had a tee handle I need a new handle, steering wheel,
4- exterior parts windshield wiper motor, carburetor, intake manifold ( I was told the motor in it was a 330 I purchased two intakes from edelbrock #3711&#7111 neither fit, the width spacing of the bolt holes is about an 1/8” too wide.
5- I live in west Georgia. Does anyone know of specialized Oldsmobile Intelligence in Ga ie: shops, parts house, clubs, swap meets..and so on?
Seems to me that olds in this year is almost odd. I can’t get anyone who seems to know anything about this car. If you Google 1970 442 its nonstop info overload. Due the same with 1965 olds cutlass and it’s just dead ends as far as parts go. This car is in what I would call great condition it just needs a few minor parts replaced and then a weekly drive.
I’m at a dead end.

Thank You
Paul

Hi lostOlds,
Welcome,

There are more knowledgeable people on here than I, but two places to
try are:

www.fusick.com
www.usapartssupply.com

You could also start with your local auto parts store. They can probably
order you a windshield wiper motor and have it in a day or two.
A steering wheel might be sourced at a salvage yard, especially if it is networked with other yards.
Also, if you're comfortable with ebay, try cutlass parts there.

Hi lostOlds,

Welcome to TOC.

To the right, is the oil pressure sending unit. To the left, just out of the pic, is the oil fill tube. The casting number Identifies the block.

........ What’s in it? ........

If it is not a 442, it came with a 330 CI Olds engine. If your casting number is the same as the one in the above image, that is what you have.

........ Transmission identification? ........

If it has the original automatic, it is an ST-300.

Olds Club of America, E bay or Olds forums for shifter parts. Steering wheels can be repaired/restored, or there are many aftermarket alternatives.

As stated above, available at most auto supply stores.

........ carburetor ........

Always have your existing carb rebuilt by someone who knows what he/she is doing.

First thing, is to find out why a 307/330/350/403 manifold will not fit on an Olds 330.

Post an image (or three) of the area, to show us the actual mismatch.

Start by investing in a Factory Service Manual. Then check out the Oldsmobile Wiki.
