Hey, I have a 93 Cutlass Ciera 3.3L, and was wondering what brands of muffler some of you could recommend for optimum sound and performance. My current muffler is rusty to the point of almost being able to poke through. I have a new Magnaflow, high flow cat installed and was planning on replacing all the piping from there back. Should I go with a Magnaflow muffler to match the cat? Is the diameter of the piping 2" or 2.25". Any help is appreciated, Thank you.

I got a Magnaflow oval muffler and it sounds pretty good IMHO. No raspy tone. Just nice and mellow. And thats on a 4 banger. I am guessing that on a sixer it should sound better. Just a muffler change alone will not yield you much power though. If you want more power, you also need to upgrade your pipes. For all three engines on the alero (2.2, 2.4, and 3.4), a lot of people suggest 2.5" piping. Maybe that'll be a good size for you as well.
