I haven't been a hockey fan for long (about 2-3 years), but I am so incredibly happy to see the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup. Even after they came close to winning the Cup in 1992 when he was still on the team, Jeremy Roenick wept with joy and pride... It took almost a half-century, but our Hawks brought home the Stanley Cup again.
We were all happy, too. I went to a pre-season game and loved it. The tickets were only $6 for third-level seats, and it was by far more enjoyable. I know it's hard to get into hockey on TV, because I definitely agree that the actual games are more fun.
People were honking and driving like idiots for hours after the game ended. That was the one downside to the Hawks winning the Stanley Cup.. The obnoxiousness that came with it. Oh, well. It was a huge win for us (er, them), and I guess we were just all really proud.
People still have their flags proudly waving from behind their cars.
I should go back to a game when I get the chance.. Hawks tickets will be really expensive next season, though.
