Alrighty...this definately belongs in the off topic part of this forum...anywayz, this van has a brand new engine in it....not sure what engine it actually is though
But that shouldn't really matter with the question I am going to ask. When I start her up, and she's idling, it will run fine for a while, and then it goes to very low RPMs....and then suddenly it will pick up on it's own. Now, I'm thinking it might just be because of old gas (it's just used for hauling stuff and haven't used it in a while) because we haven't gased it up in quite a while. It's a dual tank system if that helps anything....maybe I'll try a little octane booster in there since the old gas might have lost a little (possible?) :?

It just started doing this a while ago....the brakes light was on for quite a while too...but that was easily fixed with a refill on brake fluid. 8)
I put a new antenna on it (old one was ripped off by some idiot), she's got some new wipers, new engine, and a premium sound system (stock)....she's ready to rumble :)
That's the only problem right now with it...although I wouldn't really call it a problem since when driving it it seems fine....so...just bad gas?

could be a lot of things... does the idle constantly lope up and down? or is it a one time deal. also some more info about the engine would help, does it have a carb or fuel injection? if it's fuel injection there's alot of things that can affect the idle, I don't know about F@%ds but my chevy used to idle constantly between like 500 and 1000 rpm, real annoying. I got a new fuel pressure regulator which helped alot, although it still does it a little sometimes, I may have to change the fuel pump too.

I guess bad gas could have some effect on that... how "bad" are we talking here? months old? years old?

3 months is nothing... i wouldnt worry about your gas in that case, unless its shitty gas from a shitty gas station, that can happen sometimes.

maybe a vacuum leak somewhere? or maybe a dirty injector? lots of possibilities
