Has anyone ever run across a site that has upgrades specifically for the 3.5L used in the Intrigue (also used in the Aurora). A cold air intake like Knights Performance has for the 3.8L would nice....

not sure about stuff like rockers, cams or headers but you should be able to do some to make it go a little better.

yeah those are a waste of money usually. It can usually be done on your own for much less and it is just as good. I am not to up on the 3.5 but if it is the same diamter intake as the 3.8 you could do what a lot of people with the L67 3.8s are doing with the rice tubes and cutting them and then getting a real k@n filter and there you go. You can also remove your maf screen if you do this but could cause problems unless your intake is pretty smooth and even.

but first of all get the car ready:

if you have not already do a COMPLETE tuneup that would include:

new fuel filter, new pcv, new plugs, new wires, and all the obvious.

Then go to the 180* tstat if that is available for that motor, again I do not know a great deal about it. but 180 down from 195 on the 3800's does help a lot.

It is a newer car so the exhaust is optimized but it would be a good idea to do a high flow cat on it from magnaflow or carsound, make it more efficient.

From then the intake where you have premade options where a lot will fit or get a cheap rice tube, cut that and get a K&N on it.

3.5 is not used in the same applications as a lot of S2 3.8's so it is a littler harder to find items that just bolt up without modifcation.

It is a peppy engine and intrigues do get up and go ok but the 3.8 is what most GP's used so there is a large market there.

well, you could make your own supercharger with a power inverter and an electric leaf blower I wonder if anyone's tried that?

home made setup from autozone for the 92-00 civic/94-00 integras, 3" diameter, 45* bend with reducer/coupler from Samco (www.samcosport.com). For the 3.8 cars you need to cut 3" off the long part of the pipe for best performance.

The pipe is the rice pipe at RICE HQ or autozone P/N 8219...Autozone # 245770 8208 Universal Intake....




For the filter you need to go with:

K&N RX-4750

as it has the IAT opening.

and probably a reducer from Samco.

The filter is enclosed in a box to block heat from the engine from entering. Yet, it is open on the front to let cold air in.

FYI, we don't have any spark plug wires, just boots with springs in them. The coils are directly on top of the spark plugs. I replaced my spark plugs with stock AC Delco Platinums. They are already good spark plugs, anything else would probably be a downgrade.

I found a few interesting posts on another site about the LX5. The new stuff i had never heard of was from the middle of the page to the end. Tell me if anyone understands it and if its for real. It would be cool for iit to go to 300hp. Im not sure exactly what they mean or what it would involve tho.

Original topic was "what is available" and was engine specific. Yours was "what is it and how does it work" and was oriented toward generic performance.
