Hi, i've been thinking about installing speakers in my door panels, but I don't know the best way to do it, or what all I need. Could someone please give me some info. Thanks.

I have done it in my 91 lumina. The first decision to make is what size. You will need to figure out how much room you have inside the door. Take off the door panel, roll down the window and measure. I was able to fit 6.5'' speakers in my doors, but that was really tight. You will also need to cut a hole in the steel of the door if there isnt one. I used a sawzall, with the window up, of course. after you have the hole in the door, you need to make one in the panel. start smaller and enlarge it to fit the cage of the speaker as tight as possible. Make sure to have some glue to glue down the cloth after you cut it. Then, run your speaker wire. After that, you can put everything back together. It is very tedious work, and will take a few hours, but the result is worth it. Hope that helps

I've also installed them in my 88 delta, and it wasnt too terribly hard, but a lot of planning was involved to make sure the window wouldnt hit when it rolled down. I ended up having to use a piece of 3/4" MDF to space it out just enough so the window wouldnt hit. There is a solution for every problem ;-)

i added two 5 1/4" Kenwoods to my front doors, install was easy but required cutting metal from the inside of the door to make it sit flush and clear the window crank.
