1994 Eighty Eight Royale

The heat takes forever (10-20 minutes) to get to max temp. I set the temp to 90*, set it to "Recirc" and pump the Bi-lev fans to the max. With an outdoor temp of 34*, shouldn't the heat kick in within about 5 minutes? Also, the "Recirc" button will randomly turn off...not sure what that deal is.

Also, the car has the "Pass" option, for different passenger settings. Whether this is turned on or not, the passenger side vents always pump out cold air. Any thoughts?

What is the engine temp doing when all this is happening? Does it take longer than usual to get up to operating temp or does it act normally?

It does seem to take a bit longer than normal to reach around 200 (usually gets up to about 180-190 in 10-15 minutes in 40* temps)

Well here's what it comes down to... if your coolant is up to temp and your heater is still blowing cold air then you have a problem with the workings of your heater, if your coolant just isn't getting up to temperature in a reasonable time then you may have a problem with your thermostat.

From your original post you said it takes 10 - 20 minutes to get to max temp, 10 minutes doesn't sound unreasonable to me for getting up to temperature on a cold day.

So does it blow cold air when the engine is hot? or does it just take too long to warm up the engine?
