Hi,
I made a booboo.
I have a 93 olds eighty eight royale Ls with a 4t60e transmission that has both transmission lines to the rad leaking so in my enthusiams to repair the lines I didn't mark which line went to where in the radiator.
And no, it isn't obvious by putting the old lines back in - a previous owner had done repairs on the lines before by putting in tranmission rubber lines in previously leaking sections and I also removed those so now I have 2 short steel lines going into the rad and 2 short steel lines goes into the transmission with various pieces of either rubber or metal line from inbetween. I am planning on replacing the entire run with proper transmission rubber line with compression fittings and keep the actual metal ends at rad and tranmission as they are in good shape.
My questions are:
1. Is the fluid supposed to enter in the top or bottom of the rad on my model car. (I read a number of threads/sites that seem to have different answers? it appears to be based on car model)
2. When looking at the drivers front left of the transmission, where the steel lines of the tranmission leave the transmission; which one is out and which one is in. There is one line that leaves the transmission straight towards the ground and one that leaves the transmission level with the ground. The second one goes into the transmission right above the pan so my thought is the second one is the return but please confirm.
Thank You for any assistance you can provide.
before you ask, it isn't obvious from the previous lines as you can tell there were sections already replaced with rubber transmission line.
