Hey everyone, I was looking at Popular Hot Rodding Magazine today, and saw that they had some engine builds. Among those engine builds, was a 307 (316) olds build. They built it to 434 Horsepower and 429 pound feet of torque. Something I may consider for when I get the money. I posted the link in case you guys are interested in this build.

Probably not as "low buck" as they imply, but it would be cool.

If you wanted that sort of power, it could be done cheaper with a 350. Bill Travato did some really cool head work on his entry, and did pretty good in the EMC competition.

Dick Millers 350(364.7 actual) olds in 2002 had a combined score of 2079.6 . it had fully worked Edelbrock heads, 11:1 compression, two point higher octane at 93.

Dick Millers 403(408.2 actual) in 2004 had a combined score of 2198. it had fully worked bulldog heads, solid roller cam, victor intake, way more compression.
my 307(316) scored 2279.3,,,peak TQ per cube was better than both. both of those motors were high dollar entries .........
