Hello all, I plan on buying a new head unit for my Olds since my stock one the FM tuner went kaput, and theres nothing on AM to listen to out here except 1930's ragtime crap. My friend has a Pioneer AM/FM/Tape/CD Changer Compadable (40x4 Watts, nothing special, but I have alot of old tapes I like to listen to) that he wants to get rid of and I can get if off him cheap. My question is, since im on a major budget, should I just splice the factory wiring harness, or go for broke and get an adapter kit. I do not mind alot of work, so thats why im asking about splicing. I will admit I like a challenge, but car audio is not my best thing to do, I can wire up almost anything you give me, but still not an audio freak.

Um...install kits aren't that expensive....worth the ease of installation.

Hum, all the local places that sell them are like $35. I know ordering them off the net they are less them $15, but I refuse to buy anything off the net. Guess ill just have to buy one.

I've been burned on the internet before, but you cant let one bad experience get you down, just examine the fine print more finely! Use a trusted shipping co. and you should recieve it in one piece!

I usually dont order from the net though, just because I dont have a credit card in my name.
