Well I believe i found something useful. On the inside of the front cover of my Hayness manual there are 4 things written that seem to be corresponding to my problems. It says:

#1 Carburetor secondaries
#2 Map sensor vac signal
#3 Idle speed
#4 Dwell angle

Now I know my idle speed is too high when its hot and needs to be adjusted, and I am having carburetor problems. Could those 4 things cause what its doing?

Also my service engine light keeps going on off, but mostly stays on. I'm going to find out tomorrow what code it is.

Coupe I'll get more pics tomorrow when its bright outside. And whats a CCC car?

Yes they are. What does that tell you?

It is there. I'll post a pic.

I never have either, unless I bought it that way.

They could. We will look at those possibilities as we get to them.

Your manual assumes you are troubleshooting a car that has not been forked up by its previous owner.

Computer Command Control. Should be self explanatory.

The previous owner was the one that did the engine swap, well his older brother did.

It may or may not be.

Maybe. Maybe not.

I think we are well aware of that.

Wait until you are asked to do that.

EDIT: Removed some unnecessary wording.

Read it again.

Your manual does not know (or care) who worked on it before. It only assumes that the car was running normally, before the problem occurred.

That they are recieving vaccum signal to open, which would tell us that the carb is hooked up incorrectly?

EDIT- Scratch that, a q-jet should have spring loaded secondary flaps, right? That means that something isnt hooked up right there, correct?

EDIT 2- Also just realized/remembered that a q-jet doesnt have vac secondaries. Boy when you dont have to tune one for a few years its amazing what can slip your mind... I better not try to ride a bicycle!

In addition to increasing air flow, what happens when they open?

Good guess. Do you think it was done on purpose?

OK, what causes them to open?

Swap?

Pull the codes. We need to know if the brain is actually connected.

What was the original engine?

More fuel, as the secondary metering rods are opening too. If they are open all the time, wouldnt this create a huge vac leak?

Well, if the pulloff isnt hooked up, wouldn't that cause the plates to not retract, but only if the spring adjustment was goofed up to begin with?

I don't think anyone would do that on purpose, unless they wanted to run WOT all the time. Explains his hard starting, even without a choke properly adjusted.

What I meant to type was that they arent vac secondaries like a holley. IIRC, a holley responds to venturi vac, not manifold. Q-jets use an air valve but that is actuated by manifold vac, right? Supposed to be a seamless transition... I think I need to buy that book and read it... I don't know as much about this as I thought I did.

Yes a swap, the block in it is from pepboys. I thought I already mentioned somewhere that it only has 1400 miles. I am not even sure if the computer is connected. The original was also a 307.

Thank you.

Your use of the word "swap" is a subject for a different thread.

Now, open and close both doors by hand, to see if they move freely.

Fuel leak,yes. Vac leak, no.

We can continue this one after he shows us the right side of his carb.

Or unless they had no clue what they were doing?

Part of it, anyway. Looks like the choke was opened on purpose, in order to "band-aid" an already rich mixture. Possible, the air valve was opened for the same reason.

Hard to second guess a bull in a china shop.

Apples and oranges. Vacuum is vacuum.

It is. Only one of the reasons it is the best carb for the street.

You haven't asked yourself enough questions.
