I don't even know where to begin-
91parkave wrote: 0dd fire: .... The Dauntless 225 and the odd-fire Buick 231 have a crankshaft with three journals that are offset at 120 degree intervals. 91parkave wrote: even fire:
In mid-1977 the 231 was converted to "even-fire" (120 degree spaced firing impulses) Something is not adding up here. The rest of 91parkave's first copy and paste is a repeat of my wiki paste, only written worse. 88 Coupe wrote: I question the use of the word "smooth" I do too. If I had written it, I probably would have used "smoother", or "more smooth". 91parkave wrote: also i have found that even fire is not exactly "true" in its meaning. besides from what i seen is the diffrence in Crankshafts mainly. but heres another tid bit for the even fire You are wrong in your finding. The information you found is for the Chevrolet 231, which is a different engine entirely. Chevrolet did not go with the split pin like the Buick did, and IIRC, the main journal sizes are different too. I found this out while helping with a crank swap in a Buick 231. Owner thought that a 231 was a 231, and ended up with a cool looking door stop. 91parkave wrote: you dont know jack shit about these either, i contributed facts from the net So in a roundabout way you are admitting you don't know? How surprising... How factual those facts are is still in question too. Or, in your words, do you "factual" data? 91parkave wrote: Because if you had personal experience you would have posted it already Ever consider that some people actually take the time to post with proper grammar and usage? Or perhaps what he was going to say was already said? There is no need to try to divert attention away from the subject. 91parkave wrote: Otherwise youre getting all your info second hand, so i dont see how you can talk shit about something posted when youre not sure as you stated, about the subject
So why are you talking?

As I suspected. When something smells that bad, I check it out, before I post.
Look what I found:
88 Coupe wrote: 91buickman wrote: ........ distributor ........ ........ I do not believe it was changed, at that time. I will confirm, after I verify it ........ Confirmed. I was correct. Only the cap and reluctor were changed, not the distributor. 88 Coupe wrote: 91buickman wrote: ........ also i have found that even fire is not exactly "true" in its meaning ........ If it is not, would it make your first post any less than BS? ........ Confirmed. I was correct. Chev, not Buick. 88 Coupe wrote: 91buickman wrote: ........ Each pair of adjacent connecting rods shared a crankshaft throw with the two journals offset by 18 deg. This offset produced a firing sequence of 132 deg./108 deg. or a semi even-fire sequence throughout the firing order ........ Sounds familiar. Why am I thinking Chev V6? I will check it with my crank grinder, when he gets back from lunch ......... Confirmed. I was correct. Chev, not Buick 88 Coupe wrote: 91buickman wrote: ........ It also required that connecting rod lower ends be 0.050" narrower than the small block V8 engines to provide for a thrust bearing between adjacent connecting rod journals. I still think you should verify your source(S) ........
Confirmed. I was correct. Chev, not Buick.
Your source is a Chev site. We can see why you did not post your source. You did not think we might recognize Chev specs in place of Buick specs.
How childish.
Not even an original idea. Three of the previous Tolls did the same. They also got caught.
They were also childish.

91buickman wrote: ........ BS and rant ........ rant and BS ........ more BS ........ more rant ........ andrewk's 2nd wiki quote wrote: ........ in 1978 Chevrolet introduced a 90° 200/229 V6, which had a compromise 'semi-even firing' design using a crankpin that was offset by only 18°. This resulted in cylinders firing at 108° and 132°, which had the advantage of reducing vibrations to a more acceptable level ........
I wonder if this is 91buickman's source.

91buickman wrote: Well damn guess im wrong on this one ........ 1, You guess? 2. On this one? 3. You posted a BS statement, in an area where you have no knowledge, then evaded all attempts at rational discussion while being driven by the the childish hope that you will not be seen for what you actually are. 4. Then, when had no place else to go, you "apologize" so it will "make it go away" and everything will be "all better". 5. You have done nothing here, that you have not been doing since your arrival at TOC, and before that, on Bonneville Club. 6. Your wording changes, but your actions do not. 91buickman wrote: ........ As for me trying to trick people to think a chevy engine is a buick engine ........ 1. It is exactly what you did. 2. You did it, because it is what you do. Nothing more, nothing less. 3. You posted links that do not pertain to the subject, and you quoted links that do not exist. 4. You did it, because that is what you do. 91buickman wrote: ........ what you did. is absurd in any respect ........ Explain (in an adult manner) how/why anything I posted, here or anywhere else, is absurd. 91buickman wrote: ........ I searched throughout and found those articles and cut and paste them ........ That has already been pointed out, more than once. 91buickman wrote: ........ they both were "buick even, odd fire sites" ........ 1. You did not find Chev specs on a Buick V6 engine site. 2. The the two links you posted, were to Jeep sites. 3. You did not post a link to the Chev specs, you quoted. 4. You posted that Chev data, for the same reasons I outlined above. 5. Just more of your usual BS 91buickman wrote: ........ I might have gave the wrong information ........ Might have? Isn't it an interesting coincidence that, again, you need to convince us (after you have been caught) that one of your BS statements is "just a little misunderstanding/was a typo/not what I meant to say" and that you are innocent (its all norms fault) of all wrongdoing? 91buickman wrote: ........ especially on a internet forum lying is ass backards ........ I apologize for any mis-information posted on this thread. 1. Only on this thread? 2. Anything specific? 3. Is there anything you posted here that was not misinformation? Norm
Edited: Replaced "started" with "stop" in the above: "If you ever stop "talking the talk" to the typo.

I searched throughout and found those articles and cut and paste them, they both were "buick even, odd fire sites" , I might have gave the wrong information but i am far from a liar, especially on a internet forum lying is ass backards. I apologize for any mis-information posted on this thread.
Let me break it down to your simple a**
1. Yes i was wrong and i included me,myself and i in that no one else is mentioned so the post you made is b.s
2.Yes it is absurd in accusation that you made that i would lead people in the wrong direction just to save face....no thats not how i get down period, and you do not know what kind of person i am. so who are you to judge me? you damn sure aint god.
3.If you choose to hold on to me being wrong then thats on you, move on and get over it, you love to drag a issue on and on and it never ends but yet im childish?
4.question i have to ask you is even after i admitted im wrong why do you continue to talk your shit? nothing you said will solve anything to the thread, or the forum once again, nobody cares about your opinion, arent you tired of having to type buickman in all your post by now? get alife let it go move on.

Are you having trouble finding where the "maturity" is stored?
