Well I have a 1972 Oldsmobile 442. It has the 350 Rocket and TH350 tranny and 3.73 posi rear end. Anyone that really knows me knows I told them a million times I'm getting a 442, but I was expecting a 80s somthing 442. She has 160,000 miles on her but 40,000 on the motor, tranny and suspension. She runs awesome and has more than enough power (makes me wonder why I want more) I ended up paying 3500 for her and I got lucky, it took me like 6 months to find a good deal like this. She has some rust, like I'm going to have to cut a section of quarter panel out but that isn't that big of a deal. She alreadys a Holley 650 spread bore with mech secondaries, Black Jack headers, and a B&M stage 2 shift kit. She gets up and goes. The interior is in great condition other than the seats, like the front seats were recovered in a different year cover (hard to notice unless your a olds freak) and the back seats are starting to develope small cracks

Thats basically it, I don't need to tell to much about the Cutlass other than it was my first car and I beat the hell out of it, I'm kinda a legend in my old HS parking lot because of the crap I did. Good times

1973 Delta 88 Royale, Rocket 350, TH400, 3.08 Posi

THE HISTORY:

My '73 Delta 88 was ordered brand new by my grandparents from an Olds / Pontiac dealership in town. My grandfather, who was a Chevy salesman for most of his career, semi-retired in the early 70's and sold Oldsmobiles part time at this dealership. I have all of the paperwork from the ordering of the car and sale of the car! My grandfather being a Chevy salesman always had the latest and greatest cars and he took very meticulous care of his cars. He died in 74, only having driven the car for a few months. My grandmother kept the car and drove it until 1986 when she bought a brand new delta 88 2 door. (Which is still around... but it needs work)
She was going to trade the 73, but my dad said he wanted to keep it because it was his father’s last new car. So it got parked behind the garage....where it sat... and sat..... and sat... and proceeded to rot into the ground. (Literally!) I don't think that engine was even turned over for about 12 years.

THE RESTORATION:

I think it was 1998 when I started thinking about fixing it up. The first step was to see if it would even turn over. I know no one even cranked it the whole time it sat there so before I did ANYTHING, I took the spark plugs out and pretty much filled all of the cylinders with oil. Then I put the plugs back in and let it sit for a couple days. When I came back I took the plugs out, put a big wrench on the crank pulley, and WAHOO! it moves!

aaanyway.... to make a VERY long story short, after new plugs, points, condenser, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and a coil, I had the engine running off of a portable gas can within a couple hours. The fuel tank and lines were completely rotted out as well as most of the brake lines... etc etc (it needed alot of work)

It took about 2 years, but I worked on what I could on my own, and spent money on it as I could afford it. I'm not going to try to list everything that's been done to it, I'd be here all night!

it’s in real nice shape now, in and out. Not quite “showroomâ€

I always read stroker's posts!

Oh yea, I'd also like to mention I didn't know you went through so much to restore that car, hopefully I'll do the same with the LeMans in making it a good looking car like yours! :D

Hey everyone! My name is Tim and I'm from Howards Grove Wisconsin. I'm a senior in high school and my ride is a 1987 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham with the stock 307 with some minor mods. My dad has a 1964 Corvette with a ZZ430 crate motor in it. Both cars and more can be found on my cardomain website right here - Squirrels Webpage

WELCOME TIM!!!!!!!
Youre not TOO far from me, as i'm in SW Wis. myself. I'm actually looking at a 74 442 up around your area, or actually a bit closer to Green Bay...anyways, i suppose its my turn to give up the goods on my rides.... :P

1970 Olds Vista Cruiser Wagon( the Kruiser)
I got this car late last fall for the initial purpose of pulling the other car to the track. Thought it'd be kinda kewl to see an Olds pulling an Olds. Then one day it suddenly became the newest project car...lol, go figure. I traded a 1992 Dodge Spirit for it, which i basically had about $250 into. The vista was a nevada car, which now has just short of 53,000 ORIGINAL miles on it. Its a 350 2 barrel car with none of the fancy options usually seen on a vista, other than it at one time had factory A/C. Being a western car, the interior needs quite a bit of work, but the body is nearly rust free. Currently sporting 17x9.5" Centerline Billet Scorpions with 245/45 ZR17's in front, 275/40 VR 17's rear, lowered about 2", windows tinted, and has a monster stereo system that i designed and installed, which is built into the former 3rd seat area. This is my daily driver.

1972 Olds Cutlass S ( The Racer)
I've had this about a year and a half now. Bought it after having withdrawl symptoms after selling my 70 Cutlass Supreme SX. Had been driven back from Texas about a month before i bought the car. I bought it with a rebuilt 455, TH400, and 2.73 open rear. In the last year its gone thru a TON of changes, and now has a different big block, reworked TH400, and different rear setup.
470 cubic inches ( 455 stroked to a 470)
12:1 compression, J&E custom pistons, Child and Albert ZGS rings, ARP head studs, Harland Sharp full roller rocker conversion, Jesel 3/8" custom length pushrods, hardcore reworked B casting heads, 3/8" ARP rocker studs and guideplates, Engle JM 40 solid lifter cam(304/314), stock oil pan modified for 7 qt capacity, ATI balancer, Edelbrock torker intake w/ 2" adapter/spacer, Holley 1050 dominator, Mallory comp 9000 electronic distributor, Aeromotive Street Rod series fuel pump, Mallory 3 port bypass regulator.
TH400 tranny
TCI valve body kit, PTC 10" 3500 rpm stall converter

8.5 corporate rear, 3.73 positraction, Lakewood ladder bars, Competition Engineering 3 way adjustable shocks on all 4 corners
driveshaft loop
30x9.0-15 Hoosier radial slicks
Cragar SST's on all 4 corners
Fiberglass OAI ( ram air) hood
factory style rear spoiler
interior features B&M pro stick, line lock, Autometer Pro Control rev limiter, Autometer 5" monster tach with shift lite and recall, fuel pressure gauge with islolator, water temp, oil pressure, and volts gauges, RCI 5 way safety harness

The first pass at the track, right out of the garage, with no tuning, was a 12.4@111. With tuning time, this car should EASILY be a mid to low 11 second car, and YES, it IS street legal and i DO drive it on a fairly regular basis in the summer
