OOOOOOOOO nice! That engine must be a project just to keep clean, whats the name of that color, it kinda makes me think of the new Saab 9-3 convertable color that they got.
The car was originally 53 Gold Nugget which was a special order color option that year. I requested that color when I had it repainted but it is slightly off. You can't tell from the pictures but the paint has a high metallic content.
Since I inherited it from my dad in 81 I decided to dedicate it to him. A little word play on the slogan Oldsmobile started using in 1988
"It's not your father's Oldsmobile" while tring to move there product to a younger crowd.
After I inherited it I drove it for awhile and then it went into garage storage for 19 years. This is how it looked when I resurrected it late last year. This is not the original color either as It was painted once before in the early 80's.
The car is in remarkable shape as it has spent it's entire life in the AZ desert. I had the engine bay and underside redone as well. This is the original axle.
This is the axle after installing a W-27 cover.
I will use it for a short period as I already have a Moser 12 bolt complete axle assembly w/ 4.10:1 gears waiting.
