Talking about the 87' Delta 88. What did they do in later models that replaced all those vacuum lines?

Anything that can be done to transfer that system from the newer 3.8 to the older one? :? Or would it be easier to just put the newer 3.8 in all together?

I beleive the newer series still has the vacuum lines, but it would look a bit different. Are you still battling your rough idle? I know getting into that 3.5L with the kitten smooth purr is a big jump from getting back into the ole' 88.

One of these days, brando, we should both swap our engines to 3800's and be done with it all! How much would the parts cost, would anyone know roughly? Are the engine mounts the same? Lots to consider i guess....

I wouldn't mind trying the swap....wonder what would be required though. Computer would certainly need to be changed, what about the gauges (those stupid idiot lights)? Would be interesting, just an upgrade to the Series II 3800, not the Supercharged version (L67). Tranny would probably need to be changed...which is good cause mine sucks anyways. :-k

The newer 3.8L use a Digital EGR Valve...I am guessing this takes a couple lines out. Wouldn't that take out the EGR Solenoid?

The thing that seems to be the big PITA is the wiring... :(
But I seriously am considering it...would be awesome to upgrade it....and the mods that are readily available for the Series II....

100% agreed. even a series 1 3800 would make my car wake up and smell the rubber. Would be a hell of a switch indeed. Also agreed on the tranny in our cars being a peice of shit.

Lets work on a manual transmission/3800 series 2 combo in our cars brando.

I'd rather not have a manual trans in an Oldsmobile
Kind of takes away from the sport luxury thing.... :D
