Unless the distributor is loose or someone moved it, it's not the problem.
Never f**k with a carb unless you know what you are doing. Carbs seldom have problems but get blamed for everything.
Double check all vacuum hoses. Check plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.
Spray about half a can of aerosol carb/injection cleaner around the inside of the carb, and then make a run (WOT on the on ramps) down the highway.
