hi ...if a knock sensor gos bad will the car start or run???? thank you for your help

Yes, it will. The knock sensor sends a signal to the ECM when the engine is uder load. the ECM uses the info from the knock sensor to either advance or retard the timing based on if spark knock is occuring or not.

What would the ECM presume or the knock sensor is disconnected?
